How Long Does It Take to Rank in Google? [Infographic]

Trying to figure out how long it will take you to rank on Google may often feel like getting blood out of a stone. This is because the ranking factors and sub-factors are becoming increasingly harder to understand. Plus, there are simply too many of them!

If you ask an SEO marketer how long it will take for your Google position to improve, they’ll most likely answer ‘It depends’. Luckily, a study conducted by Ahrefs may be able to give you a more satisfying answer.

This comprehensive study first looked into the average age of the top-ranking pages. The Ahrefs team pulled data on the top 10 ranking pages for each of the randomly selected 2 million keywords. After analyzing the data, it turned out that an average top 10 ranking page is 2+ years old, while pages that rank #1 on Google are around 3 years old.

We’re just scratching the surface here, so if you want to learn more about this compelling study, check out the infographic below by The Website Group.
